I found this on a French website and couldn't stop laughing.

Sunday, August 05, 2007

Hey everyone, I'm back, not only from germany but also from the mission trip I went on, it was sooo much fun, if you ever get to go on a mission trip, go, it was a blast, except for the little children.

I'll finish this up later.

First noty part-Erika, but everyone can read it, I give you permission

Let my say this first and foremost, I think the bedeka I bought is a wonderful colour, and I think it looks amazing . If there would've been a blue or green one like this, I would've bought one, but. Oh, and it could've been worse, there were these really ugly ones with... well, let's leave it at they were ugly.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure I got the right size, but I guess we'll find out. I did a measurey thingy and it should fit, but I'm not sure.

Here's the thing, it's burgandy.

I'LL write slow, and give ya time to mull that over. I'll even sing you a nice elavator type music  to help y'all calm down.

OH DANNY BOY
THE PIPES THE PIPES ARE CALLING
FROM GLEN TO GLEN
AND DOWN THE MOUNTAIN SIDE

(Does screaming it take away the calm somewhat soothing elavator effect?  Yeah, ok)

Oh Danny Boy,
the pipes the pipes are calling
from glen to glen
and down the mountain side
the summer's gone
and all the  roses,
dying.
tis you tis you,
must go and I must bide.

But come ye back,
when summer's in the meadow,
or when the valleys hushed
and white with snow,
tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow,
oh Danny boy
oh Danny boy
I love you so.

Enough time? I hope so. I love the betdeka, or however you spell it. And I think you'll like it too, even though It's a shade of red. I'm sorry I didn't get a different colour, but before I left all you said was ''I want a Betdeka'' so. I think it's gorgious. or however you spell it.

Ok, yesterday we went to Fritzlar, and it was this beautiful old small town, that wasn't bombed during WWII. But, guess what I gotta see?

No, seriously, guess. I doubt any of you are gonna get it...

THE WORLD'S LARGEST SAUERKRAUT FACTORY!!!

sw
eet, non? How many people can say that they've got photos of the world's largest sauerkraut factory? I can.

Today, we went into the german sevvies english classes, that was... interesting. Oh yeah, mum, question, do we as students pay for the american teachers to go? Cathi's mum doesn't believe me, and hey, I could be wrong, but I don't think so. Oh,  and some of the program costs is going into sending postcards from german students to american students. At €1 each. We're probably sending at least 100-150  cards. that's about $187.00 american money. I'm sorry, but I don't see why we can't bring them back to the U.S. and hand them out in class. Oh, and because of the postcards, we might go overbudget because we're getting sweatshirts here too. Not amused.

Since Cathi's mum and her couldn't pick me up after school, Omauti picked me up. (AKA, Cathi's grandma) She was cool. We talked about school, my and her mum and dad, and she brought out an old photo book from before WWII, and told stories about who the people were, and with a little help from my new german-''american english'' dictionary, we got it all through. Her dad was in the Luftwaffe, and she was about 4-5 years old during WWII. then, we watched her favourite show, Sturm der liebe. I thought it was soap operay. Petra called to ask if I'd gotten there ok, and Omauti--in german, may I remind you--said, ''Oh, I forgot, I don't know where she is, on no...'' Of course, I was in the backround laughing. Half hour later Petra picked me up, and she asked if I slept, and I said no, she asked if I read, and I said no, so she asks what I did, and I said, I talked with Omauti, and she said, no, you didn't and I said ''Doch.''

Later, we went shopping at IKEA, which is Walmart goes American furniture goes restaurant goes biggest warehouse in the world. It's HUGE!!! But cool in that huge way.

Then, we were driving back from IKEA, Deter (Cathi's dad) pointed out the train station, among other things. Now, while I think that all of Cathi's family is wonderful, her dad really is a dear. But he doesn't speak any english, so when I have a German lapse, it's a little hard to communicate. Well, instead of talking about stupid stuff, we talk about things that we can both understand: cars. After I was thoroughly amazed by the train station (the train can go 300 kilometers per hour, and it takes 3 hours to go from here to Munchin, and 2.5 to Berlin. According to Deter) we were all walking in the parking lot, and he was amayed by this car. I couldn't understand why, it was a brand I had never heard of before, well, I understood after he told me that it cost over €200,000, that's $300,000. We then talked about the speed it could go, and I compared it to a Corvette, which led to another small discussion about Chevrolet. It was fun. Oh, and tomorrow, when we tour the VW factory, I might see Deter, he works there in quality control.

Oh, and the day before yesterday, we went to meet Cathi's relatives, because they apparently realy wanted to meet me. At first, only her oncle was home, but later, her aunt and two cousins came back from the pool. Now, this family was one of those amazing families to us foringers(sp?), 'cause when the speak, the talk with their hands too. It makes it so much easier. Anywho, while at the pool, older brother pushed younger brother, and younger brother fell in, and broke his glasses, and scraped up his face. Well, their mum said that they wouldn't do anything until they could get along, so,--realiye, she's miming this too--they walk up to her, and while within hearing distance are fighting, then they see her looking at them, and all the sudden, they became best friends, and held hands, like good little children. Hey Erika, do you remember doing that when mum and dad told us the same thing?

Katie-

°knocks you over head° DUH!! Of course there's a time change!!! We're seven hours ahead of you, so, I'm writing this at 10:45, but in Wisconsin it's 3:45 p.m. That's why we're always so tired. I'll see you as soon as I get back!!! And I found something that remided me of you, so, I got something else to match. and then I got a random present, in case someone goes ''did you buy me anything?'' and then I can go ''yeah''...not. Glad you liked the story, I was worried it wouldn't translate into paper.

Mum- I haven't bought any chocolate for you guys yet but Cathi understood the words ''dark chocolate'' so I think we'll be fine. do ya thing grandma/grandpa want some too. (shhh... secret present)

Erika-
no, it was not called fort fun, and it wasn't cheesey. it was called Hollywood Park or something like that, but I had a stomach ache, so I didn't go on any of the rides. but it was cool.

HAPPY MIDSUMMERS NIGHT TO ALL OF YOU!!!

Love y'all!!!--or at least the people I know.

Cathi say's hello, and lots of love, and she hopes to see you next summer.
When she hopefully comes back to the U.S. with her sister.

La La La... City Games=dumb.

Heya!

I didn't get to post yesterday, I was to tired. MK? Good.

I'll start with answering questions, then I'll get to my doings. Katie, it sucks, that swimmers itch thingy, yeah, to bad, I think that swimmers itch is in the water 'cause of to much goose poop. Oh well. Oh, and as to hott guys on a beach, well, let's just say we went to the pool, and german guys are really built. REALLY built. Although, like five of them were in speedos, yeah, it was like, wow, didn't need to see that. Esecially the fat guy... and the guy with the hippie speedo. But the other guys, wow, hottness. And ridding was fun. And English and western saddle are two different types of saddles and ridding,  this is a western saddle, not the high pommel and cantle. Along with the nicely cushioned spot for your butt to land, aka the seat. Also note the nice sized stirrups. Along with the largish skirt, and the two girth straps.

This is an English Saddle, note the low pommel and cantle, the small stirrups, and the short skirt, perfect to get your leg pinched in. Oh, did I mention that the seat is really really X 10 hard??? Oh, and only one girth strap.

Ok, back to what I've been doing. Yesterday, we went to an amusment park, only, it was an ''American'' amusment park. It was pretty cool and funny. We went to a circus show and drove through a safari, and we went to a Western show. They had a todem pole. ha ha. Ok, and they had a horse competition with people from the audience. This one wannabe gangsta walks up, and they hook him up to a line that makes it so you don't fall off. Ok, and before he goes to jump on the horse, he pulls up his pants, and runs--like yer spo'sed to-- and jumps literally over the horse. He goes at it again, and makes it, kinda, and he heaves himself up. Then, he stands on the horse--again, like yer sp'osed to--and rides it around the ring, then, the horse won't stop, so he jumps off, forgetting that if he does, due to the safety strap, he's gonna swing around a bit. While swinging, his pants fell down. Completely. Yeah, it was pretty funny.

Hmmm, today we went to an elementary school, it was boring, we kinda went with after the third hour of answering questions, we made stuff up. We made some jokes about kinds asking questions like
Kid: ''What's your favourite colour?''
Us: Yes.
Kid:  Can you smoke?
Us: Blue.

Yeah, I guess you had to be there. Then we did a city game. Well, We went into the ratthaus--city center-- and I (in german) asked the attendant there it she knew how many books were in the library. Well, she gave me directions to the ibrary and told me to ask them. So my team went into the library, and I told them that we were students and were playing a city game, and I asked them how many books there were, while they were looking it up, I also was able to find out that they knew the answers to all but two questions about postage stamps, yeah, I got this all across in German, I was so proud of myself. We won. Majorly kicked... butt. Done in 10 minutes, and some groups didn't even finish. Go me.

After that (I also bought candy for ben, I'll buy more later.) we went home, I took a shower, and slept. Then we went to the ''Documenta'' AKA a boring modern art show. Now I will admit that maybe three of them I saw were in my mind amazing. Someone did an amaying watercolour of a street in Bejing. It was amazingly detailed, and wow, and an abstract thingy, and another amazing painting. There were also... interesting paintings. wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean.

Tomorrow we're going to Marlbourg, and SHOPPING Yay, I'll look for your bedeka Erika, and hey Katie, I already gotcha something cool. Hey, I got something else for ya if ya like coffee. Gimme a comment. Mum/daddy, do y'all want chocolate?

I'm still here.

Hey, just 'cause I'm having to much fun to write tons, is not my fault. kk? It's amazing here. Mum, I have an idea, instead of going on the high school exchange, could I just visit Cathi??? PLEASE!!! Aparently her mum and dad think that they should switch kids with you 'cause I'm so sweet. :D And I think my German is getting better. I think it's so sweet that Simmer's protecting you guys now, what's the betting that Erika likes her better, non? Yupp... I think so... Ok... umm...

We went horseback riding today... so yeah, it was fun, but english saddles are hard to ride on, it's like riding on a saddle, but not. I think western is SO much easier, or with no saddle. You gotta stand up when you trot. Yeah... not cool, I almost fell off. Not like I've ever done that before. (sarcasum) Then we went to this cool little city and ohh... so schön. we had ice cream... sooooo good. and then Cathi got her math test back... well, let's just say the results weren't good. Yeah... it was fun, but, anywoo.go on YOUTUBE and look up jeff foxworthy...

I tried to explain redneck to the germans here, it didn't work...
